Sensepoint XCD gas detector is a fixed device installed in areas where there are flammable, explosive or toxic gases, used to detect the concentrations of combustible gases, toxic gases and oxygen in the air.
The core components of the Sensepoint XCD, such as the sensors, adopt multiple patented technologies to make the detection more accurate and have better long-term stability. The XCD uses the same housing for catalytic combustion, electrochemical and infrared sensors, enabling it to measure a wider range of gases and types. The newly added RTD and RFD models support remote installation of sensors and transmitters, and can also support universal 4-20mA output sensors. Therefore, the Sensepoint XCD is widely applicable in general industrial fields such as petroleum, chemical, metallurgy and manufacturing, and also performs exceptionally well in some harsh environments.
The Sensepoint XCD (with a similar sound to "beyond" in English) consists of one gas transmitter and multiple optional sensors,
including: combustible gas sensors, toxic gas sensors and oxygen sensors. The structure of the Sensepoint XCD is suitable for hazardous environments, as well as ordinary environments.
The transmitter of the Sensepoint XCD can not only perform on-site display but also comes with 3 programmable relays, which can control external devices such as external sound and light alarms, solenoid valves and switches. The transmitter of the Sensepoint XCD adopts standard industrial 3-wire wiring method and outputs 4-20mA analog signals to the gas detection control system or PLC.
The calibration and maintenance of the Sensepoint XCD are completed through a magnetic rod. Thus, only one operator can complete daily maintenance without opening the cover. The Sensepoint XCD is applicable in Class 1 and 2 hazardous areas (Europe) or Class 1 Division 1 or Division 2 (North America).
Transmitter:
The housing of the Sensepoint XCD transmitter has 3 wiring ports. Two of them are cable wiring ports, used for connecting power lines, signal lines and relay circuit wiring. The bottom wiring port is used for connecting the sensor. The Sensepoint XCD transmitter integrates an installation base plate to make the Sensepoint XCD suitable for various installation methods.
The on-site LCD display of the Sensepoint XCD transmitter can display gas type, gas concentration, alarm information and instrument status information. The display module can provide digital display, bar chart display and graphic identification.
When operated with a magnetic rod, the LCD of the Sensepoint XCD transmitter can also display diagnostic information. The transmitter housing has 1 glass window, and users can operate the instrument through the glass window using a magnetic rod. Using the magnetic rod operation enables users to perform single-person calibration and settings for the Sensepoint XCD.
Flammable gas, toxic gas and oxygen sensors
The Sensepoint XCD transmitter is equipped with two types of combustible gas sensors: non-dispersive direct infrared (NDIR) sensor and catalytic combustion sensor.
In addition, the Sensepoint XCD transmitter can be used to measure various toxic gases. The Sensepoint XCD uses electrochemical working principle (ECC) to detect toxic gases and oxygen.
