AFBR-S6PY2626 Dual-Channel Pyroelectric Infrared Gas Sensor Methane CH4 Detection
The AFBR-S6PY2626 is a dual-channel pyroelectric infrared gas sensor from Broadcom, primarily designed for methane (CH₄) detection and housed in a TO-39 metal can package.
**Working Principle (NDIR)**
Utilizes the **Non-Dispersive Infrared (NDIR)** principle:
1. An infrared light source emits broad-spectrum infrared radiation;
2. The light passes through a gas chamber, where methane absorbs specific wavelengths at 3.3 μm;
3. A measurement channel detects the attenuated signal, while a reference channel detects the unattenuated signal;
4. The signals from the two channels are differentiated to calculate the methane concentration, thereby eliminating interference caused by temperature fluctuations or variations in the light source.
Typical Applications
1. Methane (Natural Gas) Leak Detectors
2. Industrial Gas Monitoring
3. Smart Home Gas Alarms
4. Portable Gas Analyzers
